Hello,
I'm searching for some ideas for the following problem: I display some pdf-Files on my Desktop. There are two things I want to do with them: — viewing with okular — editing with xournal Now I'm searching for an easy method to choose wheater to open the files with okular or xournal. Is there any widget that would solve this problem? It would be okay, when every file would be twice on the desktop (one that opens with okular, one for xournal). Thanks in advance for your hep!

What about right clicking and selecting: open with? Is that no good?

I put them on the desktio via drag and drop from dolphin. Right clicking only offers me to open the settings for the shortcut.

You have to put the file into Folder view widget or change Desktop behaviour to Folder view to have file menu on this file.

if there are but a few files you could create multiple "link to application" for each document (one using Okular, the other Xjournal) and drag them them to the desktop
no icons but you might be able to use a bookmark widget, commands can be used in the location field but not sure how or if this will work with gui apps. I tried gwenview ~/abcd.jpg and Gwenview opened but told me abcd.jpg could not be loaded, though it does exist the messageimplies the full path got stripped. |

Thanks, I'm going to use the folder widget. Not perfect, but it will work.
