Is anyone else having this problem? I cannot find a way to make text visible when I type in anything is the search bar when adding widgets. Amazingly, I don't see anyone else complaining about this.

I changed the theme from elegance and the text is now visible. Also, this has been reported to kde-bug team.

Blinking cursor is some Qt bug (as Aaron Seigo told in his blog). You should click in the text field first, then start typing.

I do, but the text color is too light to see.

Can you give some details?

1. Distribution (KDE version).
2. Desktop theme.
3. Screenshot.

It would also be good to report a bug on this here.

Also, which system wide colour scheme (as selected in Application Appearance > Colours in System Settings).

It appears to be related to the Elegance theme.

kde version: 4.7.4
Elegance theme

Unsure how to include a screenshot.

Screenshots can be included by uploading them to sites such as Imagebin, Imageshack, Picasa or other similar sites.
