I'm working on building a kde 3 desktop on kde 4, and it is definitly a hard task,
if it is more than a standard/normal/everybodies desktop.

Can anyone tell me how to get a kde3 style menu for network folders on a kde4 destop panel,
like you can see it here: http://cs.sdf-eu.org/kde3.png.
For kde 3, these network folders are represented by *.desktop-files within the folder
~/.kde/share/apps/remoteview
and should open konqueror windows.

Help would be much appreciated, thanks

Is this true? No one can help me? Or must I really say: no way within kde4?

As far as I know, you need to customise the Kickoff code to add new panels to it.
The Application Launcher Menu (classic) has a bug it seems - so it doesn't support showing just sub-menus.

You may be able to use the Shelf applet or Lancelot to emulate what you want however.

thanks a lot for your reply.
I don't know exactly what you mean (I know kde 1 to 3 quite well, but not kde 4), your answer gives me an idea where to search, though.
I will examine the Shelf applet and Lancelot.
Thanks again.
