Seems like you need to get X working first.
For more help with that you could google the output of
Could you also confirm that permissions for your home folders are correct? I find it hard to accept that KDE doesn't create a .kde folder on first login.

lspci gives me 00:05:0 VGA compatible controller : NVIDIA corporation C%!G[GeForce6100](rev a2)
... I have 6 pcs with the same config running well ... on this pcs I have debian Vheezy installed and upgraded do sid. I think I've got a bad wheekly build this time. I never see KDE refuse to create a .kde folder too. I have changed the chown and chomod to 777 ... the folder is created... but now seems something is missing in my Xorg... maibe I will try debian packages non-free later. Thanks for your patience! |

Now I have a .kde folder complete... but nothing but command line. kdm crashes and system goes to command line. I keep seen as result of comand glxinfo | grep OpenGL Error: unable to open display.

if you get the error "Error: unable to open display" I think you have no drivers installed

They are installed but not working... I take a look inside the new .kde folder and there is no 'AutoStart' folder, no 'env' folder and no 'shutdown' folder... no matter what, nouveau, or nvidia, no driver is working at all... Any clues?

no clues, think it's driver related
you should read http://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphicsDrivers for help, especially the http://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphicsDr ... leshooting section |

I have 6 other machines with the same configuration, all working ok. But on those machines I have formatted them 3 or 4 years ago with debian squeeze and later uptade them by dist-upgrade. This is the first I have formatted since them with these weird results. I will have.
Here the result from the command

seems you have the Nouveau drivers installed but this is not an area I have much knowledge, sorry
fyi -I edited your previous post to make it more readable by removing the 469 (or so) lines of numbers and placed the command output in a code box for space purposes |

Next time you have so much code please use the code tags. If in doubt how to, just ask
It appears you are using the nouveau driver (I'm sure it was mentioned before, please forgive...) and their site suggests that the n40 family is supported to some extent. Btb, to get kernel driver info simply do an lspci -k Whatever, have you tried installing something like xfce4 and logging into that? Also, which distro are you using? Oh, and it seems like X is still trying to load the nvidia module rather than the nouveau one. I think you ought to get rid of nv completely and try nouveau or the other way round. Best get advice from your distro wiki/forum.

Thanks for editing...looks really better. I am at work and in a hurry:P. I am using DEBIAN WHEEZY now, install from the ground (clean install - formated the hole HD in 3, / , swap, home ). I never see something like this and all because one guy - salesperson afraid of his hotmail password be saved somewhere - deleted some folders. The weird thing is that kdm show up beautifully and hangs up no matter what desktop manager (I have installed wmaker, gnome and kde to this point). The problem looks like X refuse to create/detect display. I have tryed to configure It by:
cvt 1024 768 60 and then: xrandr --newmode + the result from the previous command but xrandr just give me can't open display as root or as $USER |
