Deleting packages blindly is not a good idea ... especially not with 'purge' instead of with 'remove'. At least use 'aptitude', if it is available, instead of 'apt' or 'apt-get'. It will give you more info about dependencies and offer various levels of solutions for conflict situations. But that's a topic for another thread ... Regarding Accessibility: Instead of removing the whole package you may wish to simply hide the app icon from the panel. That way, the app is still available should it be needed one day. HowTo hide the AccessibleApp icon from the panel: 1) Right-click on the panel, then choose Panel Options > Panel Settings. 2) Move the cursor to the right until the System Tray settings appear and click on the spanner symbol to open it. 3) In System Tray Settings choose Entries and navigate to the entry for kaccessibleapp. 4) Set the Visibility to 'Hidden' and click 'OK'. Done. As an additional step you may wish to disable the bell which is audible whenever you (involuntarily) execute an Activation Gesture with your mouse. To do this, open System Settings > Desktop Behaviour > Accessibility and in the Bell tab deactivate 'Use system bell'. You will now be rid of kaccessibleapp completely, but it will still be available, should you wish to use it one day. Cheers, Gaius
If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.
