Has there been progress on getting weather widgets to work properly?
I want to run "weather forecast" in the panel and both "LCD weather" and "weather wallpaper" on one of my desktops. Running even just one of these widgets causes problems with the widget being unable to retrieve the weather information from the weather website and display it in a timely fashion. My research on this website shows me that this is a known bug for a few years now. |

The reliability of weather data depends on your location, and the provider(s) you intend to use.
Which ones do you want to use? I have found that the LCD Weather Station, coupled with the BBC data provider has been fairly stable for the past year.

That is something I haven't tried!
I have been using Environment Canada since I am in Toronto but perhaps the BBC is better tuned to the KDE widgets. I do get info for Toronto from BBC so this might be the ticket. Thanks! |

OK, I tried it and it is working so I have my setup just how I want it. Thanks!
Could I say that the BBC weather information site has a higher ping rate? Regards, Roger Duncan |

I would suggest filing a bug report concerning the defects in the Environment Canada backend, so it can be investigated.
As it is fairly country / region specific, it is less likely to be used compared to the BBC / Wetter backends (which provide global data to an extent) which may explain why this has not been reported yet.
