Hello,
As it says, enabling the paste utility plasma-applet-paste in the system tray since 4.10 (Arch x86_64) crashes plasma-desktop when logging in, resulting in a dark screen. Can access a terminal via yakuake, launching any application on CLI is successful, with kwin functional. plasma-desktop via CLI crashes with a segmentation fault. Would not report a bug as konqui says no useful debug info gathered. Solved by disabling plasma-applet-paste in the system tray. Just to report the problem. Available for any other info. Regards. |

Please file bug reports on bugs.kde.org.
Bug reports on the forum will very likely be missed by developers, and if seen will probably be forgotten. In addition, it is difficult for a developer to ensure the problem has been properly fixed unless you provide a backtrace. I would suggest installing debug symbols and attempting to generate a useful backtrace.

This looks like bug 311751. See the following links:

Please compare the backtraces, as the trigger for crashing looks more like https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=312075
Especially as people from other distros also jump to conclusion they are experiencing the one you mentioned, but only Gentoo users (and one openSUSE user with self-compiled Qt) provided the backtrace there. |
