Is there a way to query the Plasma Pager for the name or number of the currently-active desktop? I want to use virtual desktops to log my hours; the idea is that I have a cron script which queries Pager every minute or so to find out which desktop I am in, and therefore which project I am currently working on. Alternatively, I could query the Activity Manager, but I would prefer to query Pager, because I currently don't use activities.

Thanks

A KWin script may do the trick, or

Code: Select all
qdbus org.kde.kwin /KWin currentDesktop

Be aware in the latter case you need to be able to access your user's DBus session.
