Hi,
I have a three monitor setup, two virtual desktop and three activities. Unfortunatly my computer freezes every now and then and when I have to login back I always find all the application windows belonging to the previous session randomly restored over casual activities and monitors, with no apparent logic. Thus I always have to manually reposition every window application and when you have twenty or thirty windows it's a big loss of time. Anyone experiencing the same problem? I suspect that KDE writes session information at logout only. If so, is there a way to force KDE to write session information on a time basis? thanks goo

Yes, I think. Switch KDE to "restore preveriouse saved session" in the session managment. In the kick off menu a new position should appear called "save session".
I belive that there is some kind of dbus interface to save session without the need to use the menu but I never explored this. Hope that this will help you. |

thanks man, that way I can finally save sessions. Now it's time to find the proper dbus interface, if any, and put it in a cron job.
