"kblankscrn.kss" screens on startup

Fri Mar 15, 2013 10:17 am
Greetings,

I am getting as many as eight empty "kblankscrn.kss" screens on startup. Why?

I stopped the screen saver and I am relying on the power management to turn my display off but the screens are still appearing.

I am using Kubuntu 12.04 with KDE 4.10.1

Thanks,

Michel

I suggest running the following command:
Code: Select all
killall -9 kblankscrn.kss

This is probably caused by session management, which is restarting the hung "kblankscrn.kss" each time you login, which is why they keep returning. By killing them, then logging out normally, this should no longer occur.
