I just upgraded to opensuse 12.3. It has KDE 4.10.00 Release 1

When I set the Desktop to Grid Desktop and added the icons back on the desktop, it is really hard to move them in place because I can no longer click the icon and move it, I have to click the toolbar beside and if there is several icons beside it, it's almost impossible to click the right icon. If the icons are placed beside each other in a row, it's impossible to move the icon you want to move.
Lots of times when moving icons around on the desktop the align to grid suddenly stops working, If I switch to Normal Desktop and back to Grid Desktop it works again.
The desktop is crashing if I move a icon on the desktop and it touches the Task Manager and widgets are messed up again.

Sometimes two programs on the Task manager overlaps each other, for example Dolphin and Chrome is in the same row, so you can no longer maximize Chrome, because if you click it Dolphin is maximized instead. The left side of the task manager is blank. If I unlock widgets on the desktop, the programs on the task manager gets sorted. This problem was in 4.8 too.

Icons aren't lined next to each other on the right side of the desktop, like if I place one icon above another.

It sounds like you may have been using a Folder View pointed at ~/Desktop previously, as that would allow you to click and drag the icons.

I got 2 other desktop computers running opensuse 12.2 with KDE 4.8.5, there the grid is working and I can click on the icons and move them. I am using Grid Desktop.
The problems with the task manager and lining icons on the right is also problem in KDE 4.8.5, but it isn't unstable like KDE 4.10.00.

Hm, to the best of my knowledge there haven't been any major changes to the Grid Desktop.
If you lock the Grid Desktop on your 4.8 systems, are you still able to move the icons?

No. If I right click on the desktop and click Lock Widgets, the icons cant be moved, this behaviour is the same on all my computers.

I would suggest filing a bug report at bugs.kde.org in this instance.
