Hello,

I am on Ubuntu 12.10, and I installed KDE on top. I am using a single Desktop, and have 2 screens. The 2 screens span 1 large Desktop.

Here are 2 images that show the widgets.

The right screen is my external vga monitor and the left one is the laptop screen. As you can see the widgets on the left are transparent where as the widgets on the right are not. I noticed that the widgets behave differently on each screen. For example in the first image you see the folder widget on the laptop screen. It is showing the folder icon, whereas on the right the same widget shows the folder contents. I have configured both the widgets the same way. If I drag a widget from one screen to the other it's look changes.

Why is this happening? I prefer the behaviour on the right screen (external monitor). I have not been able to figure out any setting that controls the difference in the behaviour.

Edit: I also noticed that in dashboard view (When activating the dashboard) I see the "widget dashboard" title only on the external monitor. I don't know if that has anything to do with this.

Thanks

Hm, this is quite an unusual bug. I'm not sure any of the usual techniques for fixing Plasma theme invisibility will work here as such.
Just as a guess - changing the theme has no impact?

Can you describe your setup, particularly concerning the graphics card(s) involved and the drivers used for both?
