Hi everyone,
strangely, on Debian wheezy (KDE 4.8.5), when I set desktop to "folder view", it displays the icon (very big) of the chosen folder, instead of showing its contents. And when I click on this icon, it shows its contents. In other words, "folder view" plasma applet acts like in panel, which is not the expected behaviour ! Any idea about what's wrong ? thanks, Denis |

Can you post a screenshot showing the issue?

Hi einar,
Thanks for your answer
That's what I wanted to do but I did not find how to do it. I only saw the ability to include an image inside the message, but this is probably not the proper way since the screenshot is big. Can you tell me how to do it ? thanks Denis |

pic posting - this site does not host pics, pics need to be posted on a pic hosting site (many free ones available) and then place the link to the pic here.
you can display the pic in the the post using the img tag or the thumb= tag (which allows resizing of the pic if it is too large iirc size > 720 width), preview mode can assist |

Do folder views work if you use them on the standard desktop (as opposed to the folder view desktop)?

No, the problem is the same, a big icon is displayed in the plasma applet instead of the folder content. |

This is a known bug in Containment implementation and it has already been solved. ATM I can not point you at the bug # or the version it was fixed in, will have a look later.

Thanks ! I guess there are few chances the fix is backported to KDE 4.8.5 used by Debian Wheezy. Is there any workaround (for example, some config file I could reset to get back the proper behaviour : since the problem happened after having switched the desktop to "search and launch" and then back to "folder view", maybe I can reset the config somewhere to how it was before that operation) Regards, Denis |
