Hello everyone,
After a Plasma crash, I lost the ability to link files to activities. Not only that, but all my previous links were lost. This has also happened in the past on another system of mine. How can I try to figure out what is going on? And is there a way to restore this functionality without deleting my entire plasma setup? I am running KDE SC 4.10.3 on openSUSE 12.3. My previous system also had KDE 4.10 on openSUSE. |

Check if "kactivitymanagerd" is running, first and foremost. Also check in System Settings > Workspace Behavior > Activities whether the file linking plugin is enabled.

kactivitymanagerd is running. I tried to activate the file linking plugin, but I can't find it anywhere in System Settings.
Nevertheless, the plugin does seem to be active anyway, because Dolphin shows the context menu to link files to activities. It's just that when I use that menu nothing happens, the files don't get linked. |

Can you activate all debug areas in "kdebugdialog", and then tail ~/.xsession-errors to see if any useful output is given?

There should also be one in Dolphin, which is disabled by default, so also try also checking Dolphin configuration.

Does it function under a new user? It could be a Nepomuk metadata / schema issue.
