I am new to KDE. Few days back I installed Mageia 3 and I liked everything. But I found the default system tray icons very ugly
![]() I looked many places online. They say that the default icons are located in the "/usr/share/kde4/apps/desktoptheme/default/icons/" and " ~/.kde4/share/apps/desktoptheme/default". But I could not find them. Then I found another location "/usr/share/apps/desktoptheme/default/icons". I replaced them with custom tray icons from "kde-look.org". But nothing happened. I deleted the all the icons from "/usr/share/apps/desktoptheme/default/icons/". Then the icons changed to old KDE icons like these. But the network icon remained same. I found those icons in png format in "/usr/share/icons/oxygen/[resolution]/status". To check, I changed the volume icons in all the resolutions, no success ![]() So where can I find the default tray icons (specially the network/wifi icon) and how to change them? |

At least on my system, the Network Management applet uses the icons/network2.svgz file for it's icons, which is part of the default Plasma theme.
