I use Lancelot with KDE 4.10.3. I have Nepomuk on my system enabled. But, when I type a part of a name from a indexed document into Lancelot, Lancelot does not find it. The document is surely indexed, I checked the indexed folders. Why doesn´t Lancelot find the indexed documents? Some indexed documents are shown, others not...

Other question. Lancelot integrates Kmail it seems. It shows Kmail contacts and emails. But I use Thunderbird. Can I integrate Thunderbird into Lancelot?

Thanks in advance

1) is Nepomuk search enabled in Lancelot settings? Are the ones found searched for by file name?

2) I would assume no

Yes, Nepomuk is enabled in Lancelot. I searched by filename. Nepomuk search with Dolphin works as expected.

Thanx

Does a similar search work in KRunner with the appropriate Nepomuk runners enabled?

KRunner gives the same partial results like Lancelot. Only a Nepomuk search with Dolphin shows the indexed documents...... Maybe I have to reset KRunner´s settings? Does KRunner have its own database? Or does KRunner share the same Nepomuk database like Dolphin?

Thanks

KRunner uses the same Nepomuk data store that Dolphin uses. However, Dolphin also has extended search capabilities for directories which are not indexed. Can you confirm that the file/folder you are searching for is contained in a indexed directory?

Yes, I just tested it again. Looking for a PDF, Dolphin shows it, Lancelot doesn´t. The directory where the PDF is stored is in the Nepomuk index......

Did KRunner show the file? If it does, then the fault is probably in Lancelot. If not, then it could be a Nepomuk issue..

KRunner has the same problems like Lancelot on my system. The files that Lancelot does not show are not shown in KRunner as well. Only Dolphin finds them all. Dolphin also finds documents when I invoke only a part of the filename.

My impression is, if I invoke the complete filename in KRunner or Lancelot, both find the document. If I enter only a part of the filename, they don´t find it. Only Dolphin can find a file when given a fraction of the name.

I guess the problem is how KRunner and Lancelot access the Nepomuk database or Nepomuk API?

This is very sad, I would have loved to switch to Lancelot, but with non working Nepomuk support I stick with Kickoff and Dolphin.....

Yes, I would expect it is a bug in the Nepomuk runner, which KRunner and Lancelot could very well share.
I would suggest filing a bug report against the Nepomuk runner on bugs.kde.org.
