Autohidden panel geting in the way of flash videos

Hi guys, hopefully I've posted this in the right place. I'm on Kubuntu with KDE 4.10.5 and for some reason whenever I watch a video on Youtube (I haven't had time to check it with other fullscreen applications) I can't use the play/pause/volume buttons. I think this has something to do with the panel I have at the bottom of my workspace as when I set it to always visible I can use the Youtube bar fine.

Is this a known bug and is there a workaround that I can use?

try disabling composting alt+shft+f12 if that works then in systemsettings -> desktop affects -> advanced -> check "desktop effects for full screen windows"

does the browser used make a difference?

fyi - for me it works fine using Opera with effects enabled

Disabling compositing fixed it. However, "Suspend desktop effects for full screen windows" is already checked. Flash videos never seem to act like a proper full screen window, my screensaver always kicks in while watching videos.
I imagine I'll be able to tolerate disabling compositing while watching videos for the time being.

for the screen saver issue I use WiggleMouse it's a small java app & there's a plasmoid to toggle screensaver http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Sc ... ent=146137

supposedly some video apps that have YouTube browsing are screen saver aware so you shouldn't see this, try sMplayer (requires smtube) and uMplayer (built in), you can also try minitube - I haven't tried them

for the suspend effects not helping you should check bugs.kde.org, I thought it had beed fixed, or post a new thread under Kwin

I was thinking more of 'suspend desktop effects for fullscreen windows does not completely disable compositing' https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=297146 though it is marked ae resolved

update: there a new way to disable the screen saver when you're in full screen mode (you'll need to compile it) http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/Ka ... ent=159860
