KDE still looking bad

Sat Aug 31, 2013 4:44 pm
KDE still looks like military technology
I suggest fixing this in KDE 4.7

The current version of KDE is KDE 4.11, I would recommend updating.
Please also note that the defaults can be easily changed, with other Plasma themes, colour schemes and other customisations being available to change the appearance of KDE.

Well, you can always try another color scheme, or a different application style. Can you post some screenshots of what you like?

You could use gradients as in

Or something clean like GNOME 3

The default style Oxygen does use some gradients, although they are more subtle. You can try to play around in System Settings -> Application Appearance -> Style -> Colors. Or example, try to change Shading under the Options tab.

If you want a style you can heavily configure, I recommend giving QtCurve a try.
