Hello everyone,

It has been a while hasn't it? So, I am having issues with the Comic strip applet. When I install a comic, no entry is made in the main Comic applet settings. (Like it was not installed). Here is a picture:

See how the comics are installed but are not listed? I am not the only user with this issue. This started for me with 4.11.1

Hm. To ensure the newly installed comics have been picked up by Plasma, can you please run the following command, then logout and back in again?

kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental

If that has no effect, please use "kdebugdialog" to enable all debug areas, then run the following command to start an independent instance of the Comic applet. After attempting to configure it, please close it and post the full output made on the console here.

Can you please try running the command "plasmapkg"?
Chances are that will be missing as well.

This appears to be a regression in libplasma, please file a bug report at bugs.kde.org, against the plasmapkg tool. It appears to have changed, and broken support for installing Comic packages in the process unfortunately.

This means what one might expect: /home/ryanvade/.kde/share/apps/plasma/comics/92042-dilbert.comic does not exist.

FWIW, I just installed a comic package here with 4.11 and it works just fine.

VIA a repo or compiling yourself???

Can you please try visiting the addons site, and manually downloading a *.comic file?
Once you have done this, run the command below to try installing it:

Hm, this is indicative of what the bug might actually be... can you try this instead and see if it works?
