Hello everyone,

There is a file called "00-defaultLayout.js" in the folder /usr/share/kde4/apps/plasma-desktop/init/ in KDE 4. As i'm sure you know, it generates the plasma interface, taskbar, K Menu, folderview, etc. By default, a folder view is created for the desktop folder. I do not want this.

I want to change this file to, instead of displaying folder view, create the "Desktop Icons" activity, or generate desktop icons instead of the folder view. I know how to remove the folder view, but I would like the code to trigger the "Desktop icons" activity.

Does anybody have this code? I know there's a graphical way to do this, but I want to be able to have desktop icons by default. Please help me.

Thanks in advance,
Mitchell. :)

The creation of a Folder View applet is not a KDE default - that must be supplied by your distribution.
Please see http://techbase.kde.org/KDE_System_Admi ... pScripting for more information on layout scripting.
In particular, https://projects.kde.org/projects/kde/k ... -scripting should be helpful.
