Hello!
In the Kicker menu in the plasma panel there is the chronic tab for recently used programs and recently used documents. While I think this could be very useful it is annoying to me in the default setting. As is now (on my system at least) it shows every application and every recent document. How can I customize this behaviour: I want to exclude some applications being monitored from this menu and I definitly don't want every document to show up in the list ... As I understand this functionality is not provided by the Kicker menu but by some system services (I don't know which nor where to configure them). thx for reading, piedro |

you would have to program something yourself as best as I know, manually or programatically you would remove entries in ~/.kde4/share/apps/RecentDocuments/

Well, this workaround is working, but still it would be very desirable to have the option to exclude certain programs or file types (mime types) in recent documents functioinality...
The way Ubuntu added "privacy settings" to do that seems a good way to handle these issues. thx, piedro ps: I will file a request for that |

Am I the only one having privacy concerns here?

No, you are not the only one. Unfortunately, some good features are not going to be implemented for a long time, because developers are busy with other things, especially of none of them has the same concerns as us. You could post this as an idea to the KDE brainstorm.
