Catagory Icons on Desktop

I had KDE set so my Main Icons (Internet, Office, Media, etc,) were in the middle of my desktop so I could click on on and the sub programs would show up. I had to reinstall everything and I do not remember how to set that up. Must be a senior thing. (haha I am 81)

cashew (upper right corner) -> default desktop settings -> layout -> change to search and launch
