Quick question...
When a notification is displayed by the Notifications applet an icon for the originating application is (generally) shown. What governs the choice of icon used? I assumed it was the icon for the application as specified in the applications .desktop file, is that correct? |

I'm thinking this is the case, but I'll ask a Plasma developer to be sure.

It is controlled by the application which sends the notification; for example
notify-send -a "Whatever" -i utilities-terminal "Hello" "Hello world" will create notification applet with konsole icon and notify-send -a "Whtever" -i kget "Hello" "Hello world" will create notification with kget icon.. |

Interesting... I've not got "libnotify-tools" installed (isn't that a "Gnome Thing"? ![]() I appreciate your input though, indirectly, you've solved a totally unrelated problem I had. Thanks. |

Actually "bshah" over here is actually one of the newest Plasma developers

No need - Think I was having a "Senior Moment" yesterday... ![]() The notifications applet is passed the parameters, including the icon source, by the calling application - as "bshah" indicated. The fact that "libnotify-tools" was not installed is totally irrelevant. Thanks |
