Hello there,

That solution worked! But the only problem now is that if I go into System Settings, there is no icons, and at the bottom there is no icon for the Kickoff. But you can still click on it. Also, icons in the Kickoff do not appear. Do I just reinstall the oxygen-icons now (pacman -S oxygen-icons)?

Thanks!

Interesting. :)
I don't think reinstalling will help. You should try to delete the local .kde4, .cache and .config folders and see if it helps.

@jovin Sorry, but it didn't work. Apparently when I removed it and logged back in it got rid of the panel at the bottom/top, so I had to create another one, but the icons did not show up. But the icons in the Applications menu in the Kickoff still display the icons, as well as the Mail Client entry. Leave also has all the icons.

Thanks!

Can you please try to create and new user and see if that user has icons in System Settings? Do you have icons in other applications like Dolphin?

Hello,

Dolphin does not display an icon in Kickoff, however there are icons for files and folders as well as the entries on the left panel, but not for the Home, Network, Root and Trash directories. I don't know if this is supposed to happen. When I make a new user it displays all the icons as well as the desktop correctly. But I am wondering how I can make the icons appear in my user account, or do I have to delete and make a new user account?

Thanks,

Ethan

So it seems like the installation is fine now. The things I could think of:

1. Remove "/var/tmp/kdecache-<username>", where <username> is your username.
2. Run
Code: Select all
kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental

3. Log out and in again.
