Hey guys,

Im running ubuntu 13.04 armhf on my Asus Transformer TF700 Tablet (Nvidia Tegra 3 SoC). With accelerated 2D and 3D graphics (gles).

Ive got an issue with plasma-desktop mainly the widget panel (sorry im new to kde, im not sure of the correct term) I cant select anything, the search bar works and widget icons disappear as i narrow down a search term (indicating that its not graphically frozen) but nothing else in the bar works, it gives no indication that its even been clicked nor can i scroll horizontally through the widgets.

Strangely the "panel tool box" before the widget panel works fine, any ideas what could be causing it ? i realize my hardware is a bit weird but the rest of the environment works pretty much perfectly.

Ive tried with kwin_gles and the default window manager. Ive tried to create new panels and modify its widgets but the same issue occurs

Thanks in advance!

Unusual behaviour. I'm assuming dragging the widgets from the Add Widgets area does not work either?

Nope, neither does the "x" to close the panel. Which logs would you recommend looking in to debug this issue?

Cheers!

Sounds like a focus related issue. Just to confirm - you're using a mouse/keyboard here rather than a touch screen correct?
Can you reproduce this behaviour in any other applications (particularly with drop down menus, such as the file menu for instance)

Ive tried using touchscreen, touchpad & keyboard and usb mouse, which is all the same. Ive been playing around with the menus and standard kde applications but it only happens with that widget panel, its strange because the widgets (the standard widgets with the default panel) work fine and all other menus relating to customization of the panel work fine also.

I originally installed using sudo apt-get install plasma-desktop, ive tried removing it and installing the kde-standard package but it didnt make any difference.

This problem as been here for atleast 3-4 months (since the last time i tried kde) at the time i thought it was just something i done wrong causing it, but i installed kde on my desktop using the same command and the widget interface worked fine.

Cheers

Which version of KDE have you installed on the system?

My first poet here. I'm experiencing the same problem with an Ubuntu 14.04 KDE installation on an ARMHF Cubox-i. I can't left lick (but can right click) on widgets. If I reverse the mouse (right handed to left) then it's the right click that doesn't work (the same functionality). I've tried disabling effects but nothing. Solving this is above my payscale unless someone else can help.

Is there a way to manage widgets without the use of the mouse?
