Hi,
I have encountered some problem logging into plasma workspace, it returns back to the log-in screen again and again every time i try to login into kde plasma workspace. It has no problem logging into gnome-shell which i had installed after the kde workspace failed to log-in.

Prior to the problem i tired installing virtual-box guest addition in the host system(mint 14 kde) following the instruction in the http://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch04.html for ubuntu. To be specific i had ran the command

sudo sh ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run

to install the virtual box guest addition.I have tried logging in with the previous kernel version available, it showed some error relating to virtualbox. Is it related to the problem. Please help.
OS: Mint 14 kde(x64)
Kde version: 4.11.1

Hello Hans,
After reading your coment, created another admin account and tired logging in, still same problem. Sometimes during login process I read message like "saned disabled" in black screen and then it returns back to the login window.

Try disabling OpenGL (experimental) support in the VirtualBox settings for the virtual machine.

Solved it the easier way, uninstalled mint 14 kde and installed kubuntu 13.10 .Thank you for your replies.
