Hi all,

seems with recent Klipper versions there's some bug in klipper configuration,
it's not possible to assign a shortcut to clear clipboard history. Is this expected?

This is with klipper 0.9.7 and probably also newer versions.

Also in global shortcuts in systemsettings under klipper sadly there's no option to configure a shortcut to clear clipboard :-\

You can file a bug againt klipper - the shortcut does not even appear in "kcmshell4 keys", so sth. seems indeed fishy here.

As a workaround you can bind a global shortcut ("kcmshell4 khotkeys") to klippers dbus interface (org.kde.klipper; /klipper; clearClipboardHistory;; - see "qdbus org.kde.klipper /klipper" for the complete interface)

Yep, that's what I meant.

FWIW, here's the link: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=329735

Also
Code: Select all
qdbus org.kde.klipper /klipper org.kde.klipper.klipper.clearClipboardHistory

when run via terminal works just as expected.

Notice that the global shortcut system does NOT link to this dbus interface - whether the shortcuts have been removed deliberately thus remains uncertain. (It's not a GUI thing - the shortcut is not registered, otherwise kglobalaccel would either display it correctly or all global shortcuts would be broken the same way)
