hello
I am using KDE SC 4.12.3. I have a few thousands images that I use in a wallpaper slideshow and it renews every ten seconds. Unfortunately, every once in a while a bad image or an image that needs some work shows up and I have no idea where it is or when it was taken. Kscreensaver and xscreensaver both have options to display paths && filenames. The wallpaper slideshow does not. Two questions: 1. Is it possible to display the filename on the screen somehow with each image as an undocumented feature. 2. Is the filename stored somewhere temporarily so that I can capture the paths && filenames, say every ten seconds, as a log file of sorts. I checked the ~/.kde folder but I found no matches on searches even plasma-desktop-appletsrc. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. |

As far as I am aware, Plasma Desktop only uses the name of the file temporarily and doesn't have any functionality for displaying or making it accessible in any way unfortunately.
You could try enabling all output in kdebugdialog and monitoring the output in ~/.xsession-errors to see if the name is leaked there though.

bcooksley Thanx
Not what I wanted to hear but nevertheless the answer is appreciated. I tried what you suggested with something else in the past and the ~/.xsession-errors file grew exponentially. The cure was worse than the issue. But anyway, Thank You. |
