Hi,
for a long time already I have seen some strange behaviour. Whenever Plasma is started it seems to create at least one "New Activity" leading to many activities with the name "New Activity" . Up to now I was to lazy to investigate and just removed the superfluos activities every few weeks (I seldomly reboot and plasma crashes have become rare, thanks!). So after the latest cleaning and not finding a match at bugs.kde.org directly, I wanted decided to describe this a bit more detailed:
This seems to be reproducible (tried twice) but does not happen with a freshly created user, so I suspect the issue somewhere in my rather old configuration which has seen many version upgrades, I wonder if others see this behaviour as well or can give me a hint were to look for the issue. Thanks. edit: forgot to mention Kubuntu 14.04, Plattform-Version 4.13.2 |

Are you particularly attached to your current setup of Activities and Plasma widgets?
If not, outside of KDE please try moving "activitymanagerrc" and "activitymanager-pluginsrc" elsewhere. They can be found in ~/.kde4/share/config/ If that doesn't work, outside KDE again, try moving "plasmarc", "plasma-desktoprc" and "plasma-desktop-appletsrc" elsewhere, and remove the newly created "activitymanagerrc" and "activitymanager-pluginsrc" files.

Well, yes I was and over time a quite large number of activities with individual widgets and backgrounds accumulated. Of course I would have liked to know why the new acitvities were created, but last week I found the time to note the stuff down I wanted to keep and start fresh. No new activities pop up now. Thanks for the help. |
