Kickoff shut down impossible

Tue Jul 15, 2014 5:10 am
Bonjour,
From time to time (example: since yesterday), I can't shut down my PC (Kubuntu 14.04) through the Kickoff menu, I get nothing, the tiny window for 30 s delay is not displayed. It is the same with Restart and Standby. I am obliged to switch off mains supply.
In that case it is also impossible to update Kubuntu, my password is not asked, I only get an error message.
What is my problem ? How can I solve it ?

Have you updated anything recently, or changed your system hostname?

I accept all updates proposed by Kubuntu.
I do not use networkmanager.
I did not change my system hostname.
After 3 days, shut down through Kickoff menu is possible again: I do not understand why ... !!!

If you manage to reproduce this behaviour, please provide the output of the following commands:
Code: Select all
cat /etc/hosts
cat /etc/hostname
hostname -f
hostname
