I have problem with kickoff icons stuck in oxygen while they should be changed to different icons.
Icons are dynamon and kickoff icons should be mono icons.
Os is mageia 4 kde 4.11.4.

try deleting /var/tmp/kdecache-your_user_account but you need to do it when your KDE session is not running, so as another user use kdesu -u or from a virtual terminal using rm

I have already done it.

try switching to a different theme and then back to dynamon

No not working,mageia bugzilla they suggested to ask it from here or file bug to kde bugzilla.
Can this be some mageia own kde config issue what override local settings ?.

tried it and experienced the same, I would query on deviant art see if the author or other users experienced this

also searched bugs.kde.org (kickoff icons) and did not find similar

I tested it in kubuntu 13.10 live dvd it with have same kde 4.11 what mageia use it changed all icons in kickoff.

ftr., the linked mageia bug apparently wasn't about icons or some plasmoid at all, but some (mageia prop.?) "classic" starter background.
i suggest to provide at least a screenshot of the item in question.

@luebking: Exactly. FWIW, that happens when one mangles multiple similar issues into one bugreport. The initial report is about theming of classic kicker menu, as advanced plasma configuration only offers to change theme for kickoff, which does not seem to affect classic kicker menu.

Otto's issue is about changing the icon set, which works as shown by one of our KDE maintainers.

Yes it was bad idea to use same bug report to many similar issues,i updated kde to 4.12 same issue.

Is *only* kickoff affeced? Otherwise i'd assume that you lack "some" package to handle svg icons - but please don't ask me what that would be.
Does /usr/lib/kde4/plugins/gui_platform/libkde.so link libQtSvg.so?

libQtSvg.so.4 is linked to libQtSvg.so
ldd /usr/lib64/kde4/plugins/gui_platform/libkde.so | grep -i svg show this:
libQtSvg.so.4 => /lib64/libQtSvg.so.4 (0x00007fe24edab000)
edit: libqtsvg4 package provides in mageia libQtSvg.so.4 and symlink libQtSvg.so

fyi, ldd resolves symlinks.

My only idea left is that it's fixed in 4.14.0 (running here) but was broken in 4.12 (Mageia) and 4.13 (Bill/SuSE) but not in 4.11 (Ubuntu)
