Suse and kde newbie. Seriously a Windows user since Windows 3. Burned out my hard drive and decided to try suse/kde. Hope this the right place to post.

Installed suse 13.1 and kde 5 desktop today. Install went fine with no errors. 2 different mouse/keyboard combinations were tried. A Logitech USB optical mouse and Logitech wired (PS2) keyboard. Logitech wireless mouse (M510) and wireless keyboard with unifying receiver.

Both mouse/keyboard combos worked outside of the desktop environment. When in desktop environment the mouse cursor appeared and could be moved around but mouse clicks were not recognized (both combos).

The desktop screen showed the lizard on a vine There was a rectangular box centered in the screen with 5 icons. The icon images were fuzzy.
Not much to go on but any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
