Cannot shutdown, restart and logout.

Sat Jan 10, 2015 10:08 pm
Hi, the shutdown, restart and logout buttons in the Leave tab do not work (clicking does nothing). I'm on Kubuntu 14.10.

This is a reoccurring problem it seems, but the usual fixes I have found do not work; restarting does not fox this, neither does deleting ksmserverrc from ~/.kde/share/config/.

I can use the command line to shutdown OR i can go to Leave -> Change User and click New Session. The shutdown button on that screen works.

I have also another problem, perhaps not related but noticed it at the same time: Moun cannot install apps nor upgrades, gives the following error:
"This operation cannot continue since proper authorization was not provided".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Networkmanager? Hostname issue?

See eg. viewtopic.php?f=17&t=119788

I think the hostname issue would be visible here, right?

$ tail ~/.xsession-errors
Script for none started at run_im.
Script for auto started at run_im.
Script for default started at run_im.
upstart: Proces gpg-agent post-stop (1070) został zabity sygnałem TERM

There is this upstart message, but don't know if related. Anyway, my hostname is not "localhost".

Having the same issue occasionally. Kubuntu 14.04 LTS didn't has this issue at all.

Since no fix was found, I deleted my ~/.kde folder and restarted. The regenerated .kde didn't have this issue, and after a few minutes of setting up my configuration I was good to go.
