[SOLVED] Plasma Crash

Tue Nov 11, 2008 1:34 am
Hi,
I have just started using the new KDE desktop and am thoroughly impressed with the whole thing, and thus would like to continue to do so. However when i started my laptop this morning i got the following message : Plasma Crash

and the desktop wouldn't load therefore i had to revert back to gnome.

I saved a copy of the error file i got if any one could tell me how i could possibly fix this as i would like to go back to using kde asap.

Prior to this, kde had been working fine, no problems :-

Application: Plasma Workspace (plasma), signal SIGSEGV

That would be this bug: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=171777
As a workaround you can delete ~/.kde/share/config/plasma-appletsrc
Note that depending on your distro it could be in ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma-appletsrc rather than ~/.kde
