I just fresh installed kubuntu 15.04, I amb comming from kde 4. One of the features I liked was that the folder view was not intrusive because of the transparency level, in the current version I see that the color is almost solid (see the image)

Is there any way in the gui to configure the level of transparency? If there is one, I haven't been able to found it.

That's entirely up to the desktop theme.

Is this Plasma 5? In Plasma 4 you could change it in System Settings -> Workspace Appearance -> Desktop Theme -> Details -> I believe it's "Widget Background", could also be "Translucent Background"; not sure if the option is there yet in Plasma 5.

Yes, I am on plasma 5, it seems that the option you comment is not available on the "widget backgroud" menu, and the "translucency" menu has a lot of options but none to match this.
Well if it's not possible it's no drama, I can live as is, these are minor anoyances.

Thanks for your help.

hey there i have the same problem, my solution was simply, with the basics themes instaled you can not set complete transparency to the background widjet, so i didn't find where to modify the basics themes, and i just search for some themes that have complety transparency implemented and just used it ;D, the one i used is called "Maia transparent" and i just edit in details the basic theme "Breeze dark" to have the background widget to "Maia transparent" background widget, and worsk just nice :D .

I apologize about no images, i just rergister my account to answer you and don't know how to attach them, just make suere you download a desktop theme with background widget completly transparent, like "Maia transparent" and set it on the theme you want or apply Maia transparent theme completly.
