I set the mouse action (desktop right click -> desktop settings -> mouse actions) ctrl + left click to switch activity. If I perform the mouse action a small menu pops up in which I can change between the running activities only. Is it possible to bring this menu up with a keyboard shortcut only as well? Navigation of the menu is already possible via cursor keys and letters.

I looked at the alternatives as well, but the other available widgets to manage activities (workspaces 4.14.2, plasma 4.11.11, kubuntu 14.04.3) do not seem to work smoothly with keyboard shortcuts. The activity manager widget does not pop up despite assigned keyboard shortcut. Navigating the activity bar (widget) via keyboard does not work as well. Calling the activity manager directly is also problematic as the desktop/plasma needs focus.

For now I set a keyboard short cut for each activities separately, but this does not feel right, as the only feedback is the actual switch. For virtual desktops for example I always have the OSD activated, as it helps me to keep track where I am.
