I'm using KDE 4.14.2 on Mint 17.1 (based on Kubuntu 14.04 LTS).

My desktop is set to "Folder view" and I experience the behaviour I described in this bug report: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=353044
Basically, if I delete a file in the "Folder view" desktop/widget, then create/move a file in the same "Folder view" desktop/widget, the new file isn't placed in the first empty slot but exactly where the deleted file was.
This also causes the new file to overlap with an existing icon, if in the meanwhile I've placed an icon in the previously deleted file's position.

I've tried the latest development iso of Kubuntu and the issue is solved, at least in the latest Plasma release. I'd like to solve this in KDE 4.14.2, since this is used in the current LTS 14.04 Kubuntu.
I've found the relevant source code, but I don't know where to begin to look: https://projects.kde.org/projects/kde/a ... KDE%2F4.14

Any advice about this issue?
