When booting my Dell XPS 13 (2013, L322X) with kubuntu 15.04 with Plasma 5 and nothing attached i get a start up time of ca 9 seconds.

When i attach my USB 3.0 hub that time is increased to ca 30 seconds.
The hub a deltaco WS-UH3047.
Running 'dmesg' i get the important lines:
Code: Select all
[    6.662579] xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: Command completion event does not match command
[    6.662583] xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: Timeout while waiting for setup device command
[   11.673909] xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: Timeout while waiting for setup device command
[   11.673918] usb 1-1: hub failed to enable device, error -62
[   11.785996] usb 1-1: new high-speed USB device number 3 using xhci_hcd
[   16.685187] xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: Command completion event does not match command
[   16.685191] xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: Timeout while waiting for setup device command
[   16.889344] usb 2-1: device not accepting address 2, error -62
[   21.696530] xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: Timeout while waiting for setup device command
[   21.696540] usb 1-1: hub failed to enable device, error -62

Also when i have reached the screen with the blue load bar, it stays here for some time when i have the external display attached.
I am not sure if this is reflected in the 'dmesg' output but these lines are suspicious:
Code: Select all
[   25.424414] iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: Radio type=0x2-0x1-0x0
[   28.889022] wlan0: authenticate with 12:7b:ef:b5:f4:14

I think that in regular ubuntu the start up time was even less then 9 seconds, but solving these issues would be more than enough.

That's no way closely related to KDE - kernel devs and HW vendors argue who's a ***** **** ****** (tone on lkml isn't very pc ;-)

You seem to mean I'm in the wrong forum? Couldn't really find an appropriate cathegory either.
Anyway I posted the question on SuperUser.
The link you posted seem to be related to AMD drivers but I'll take a closer look if I don't find another solution.
Thanks anyway for the response.
