Recently I installed on my wirelessly-run Dell laptop the latest version of my sole OS, MX-15 with KDE. [The vast majority of MX-15 users are not using KDE but rather XFCE as their DE.]

I don't know what I might have enabled or selected but I see an annoying percentage status bar on my screen only when I've been away from the running laptop for a while and then touch the touchpad. Putting a finger on the touchpad makes the percentage status bar vanish.

Here's a photo of the bar: bit.ly/1JmiiFN

Sometimes I see 100% shown on the bar and other times something else such as 46%.

I think some KDE app is causing this bar to appear. What app is causing this and how is it permanently prevented from showing on screen?
