Ah, sorry - my bad. It was installed to /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/ in KDE4 times.

Really, really thanks a lot :)

And, it's quite embarrassing, but something new came up after the first reboot with the modifications in ...libexec/:
    Image

I clicked the 'no' option, the same thing happened after the second reboot - To be honest, it was working ok with just the modification con /etc/profile/, what could be the worst scenario without the script in /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/?

Thanks again,

Hi,

I ended up deleting the script, restoring polkit-kde-authentication-agent-1, up to where I can see, is only the splash screen from kde at the beginning of the session the only thing that is missing, gives me enough leeway to work for now,

Thanks a lot luebking,

You won't be able to leverage privilegues (ie. execute things with root permissions) via policykit.

Why however a wrapper for the agent would impact the phonon device list is completely beyond me. Did you maybe forgot to make it executable (causing a warning sound, kicking in phonon which then just wants to confirm a database update)??

As far as I remember I gave it permissions (sudo chmod u+x .....), as I said before, I'm fairly new to linux in general - are those the permissions the script needed?
Any way, according to your explication, things must work, so, I'll try again with this permissions, or any others if you can tell me which ones I should give,

Thanks,
luebking

"chmod 755" or "chmod ugo+x" or "chmod a+x" or just "chmod +x"
"u+x" will only make it executable for the owner (probably root), but not others (you ;-)

when some one is a newbie, someone is a newbie :)

made the changes, the script, the permissions - the right ones... - and, still the same.

any how, what could be the worst case scenario if I keep on using the desktop like this?

Processes won't be able to leverage privs via policykit, ie. you won't be able to change the system time via the GUI.

Does the phonon thing actually cause any real trouble? Is the sound gone as well?

Well, the sound/mixer icon is in the system try, and I don't know if it's normal - or may be I didn't notice before - but the mic can be heard in the speakers (the ones in the lap and in the headset), tried to mute the mic, and it appeared muted, but the problem continued.
Also, sometimes when I turn off the computer (via the option on the contextual menu of the mouse or in the k-menu), it actually reboots...

Thanks again,

Hi Gerardor and luebking,

I have the same issue as you Gerardor, finally how did you solve it? I have already done what luebking says
(I write in the etc/profile export QT_NO_GLIB=1)

But I really have no idea how to create a shell script (I am a newbie) and move those files by commands, does this really helps you gerardor? I still have the problem that it gets stucked at the authentication.

I would really appreciate any help, because I am running crazy.
Thank you so much,
