Hello guys,
yesterday I upgraded my Kubuntu from 15.10 to 16.04 (it was a very painful upgrade considering the fact that my nVidia drivers broke and I had to purge them and compile them manually). Anyway, I am now facing an issue with the icons-only-task-manager widget and I am not sure if the problem is with my graphic drivers or it is a change in KDE. As you can see on the picture below there are some annoying rectangles around the icons. This was not the case with Kubuntu 15.10, which was running Plasma 5.4.3. There were no rectangle-like boxes around the icons but only tiny blue lines above them. Right now I am running Kubuntu 16.04 LTS with plasma 5.5.5 Is this a new addition to KDE and if so, is there a way to disable it since I find it pretty annoying? Cheers. |

Yep, it seems like you are right and the problem is from the Breeze theme. I replaced its Task Manager units with the components from the Air theme and now the problem is gone.
The interesting part is that not only Breeze Light, but Breeze Dark, Hellium and the Oxygen themes are facing the same issues. It looks like only Air is okay at the moment. Thanks for the fast response! |

This isn't actually an "issue" - the Breeze theme simply has rectangular task buttons ...
