Plasma Keyboard (plasmaboard) does not retain correct size

On three computers with touchscreens that rely on a working on screen keyboard, the plasmaboard does not retain the user specified size. In fact, it always comes up in one of two unusable sizes. The first unusable size is stretched vertically all the way and very narrow making the keys grossly disfigured. The second unusable size comes up after trying to adjust the first unusable size. This second unusable size is super small only a few centimeters across. It's quite difficult and tedious to continuously resize the keyboard with the touchscreen every time it is used.

I must have astronomically bad luck for no one else in the history of the internet to have this problem but I have it on at least three computers.

The keyboard is working perfectly on ****, junky old computers with no touchscreen and no need for an on screen keyboard.

I have another identical computer that does have a working plasmaboard but I cannot tell the difference between it and the bugged computers.

I would prefer to continue using this onscreen keyboard because it is the native one. How can I fix or workaround this problem?
