Unable to log out after each update

Thu May 19, 2016 12:08 pm
Hello,

Every time I update Plasma (last one was yesterday), I'm unable to log out. I tried using Kickoff's "Shutdown" button and Krunner: sometimes, the screen fades out, but the shutdown dialog won't appear. I can eventually log out using loginctl, but that's far from convenient.

I don't know whether it's related, but yesterday, after a kactivities update, I couldn't close activities. Or rather, the activity was closed, but all applications were still running in the background. I tried killing kactivitymanagerd or sending it D-Bus signals, all without success.

Is there a known solution/workaround ?

Thanks,
Louis

PS: I'm using Plasma 5.6.4 on Arch Linux

Have you tried the 'shutdown' ?

Code: Select all
$ shutdown --help
shutdown [OPTIONS...] [TIME] [WALL...]

Shut down the system.

     --help      Show this help
  -H --halt      Halt the machine
  -P --poweroff  Power-off the machine
  -r --reboot    Reboot the machine
-h             Equivalent to --poweroff, overridden by --halt
  -k             Don't halt/power-off/reboot, just send warnings
     --no-wall   Don't send wall message before halt/power-off/reboot
  -c             Cancel a pending shutdown

Well, that's not the point. I can shutdown the machine, but Plasma won't do it for me.
