I just upgraded from plasma 5.5 to 5.7 on Gentoo, and am finding a number of otherwise-running applications are missing their systray icons, including:
Dropbox Lotus Notes Amarok kmix (the only purpose of kmix is to sit in the systray) and probably others that I'm not noticing. These were working prior to the upgrade, so it seems that it's something in plasma 5.6/5.7 that broke it? Does anyone have any suggestions? |

Can you try with a new user? If it works ok with a new user then it has probably something to do with your settings

Ok, so it does seem to work with another user - but the question then becomes how to figure out what setting(s) it is related to? I have been using KDE for 15 years, moving my home directory from system to system, and would really rather not lose all my configuration over this. |

OK. That's good! Can you just remove the systray widget from your panel and then add a new systray widget?
I'm pretty sure that it will do the job |

lotus note had a system tray icon? I did the icons and I'm always interested when an system tray icon is missing. for some software it's not possible to change the system tray icon via the plasma theme or the icon set but I would like to have a look.
may you can post a screenshot and if there is an icon that isn't from breeze. maybe you can find the icon name (/usr/share/icons/hicolor/...) |

Actually my guess here is that it is related to the fact that in 5.7 system tray was rewritten and maybe there are stuff left from the legacy/old systray in his settings.
