Hi,
I want to execute a shell script with a desctop Icon. I configured it like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ovihehk72b5kspp/bild.png?dl=0 This still worked with Plasma 5.4.3. With Plasma 5.8 LTS it will not work anymore. No terminal starts and the script is not executed. How to start a shell script with desktop icon with Plasma 5.8 LTS? Peter |

Maybe this: Bug 366793 - Regression in Konsole's handling of command line parameters - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366793
There is a patch: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366793#c23 -> https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/129677/ As a workaround you could try another terminal emulator. Testing with the XTerm... seems to work at here. |

I don't want to sound *too* clueless, but when you say "I configured it", what's it, and how? I had a bunch of .desktop files configured as executables to run scripts in a terminal from an icon in my home directory. Worked fine on KDE4, but doesn't work on KDE5. I found some resources about changes to .desktop files in KDE5, but I can't get them to work any more. Has this functionality been deprecated and/or moved somewhere else. In KDE4, setting these .desktop files up was fully automated, with a nice dialog to do it. Could it be that I simply don't have the right KDE component installed - running Mint 18.1 KDE. By the way, Help-About KDE in Dolphin used to show the KDE version, but it doesn't any more. Why on earth...? Anyway, Help-About-Dolphin shows KDE frameworks 5.28.0. |
