Plasma 4
I added the Lancelot launcher to my default panel. When I click the x to remove the default launcher, it jumped open on my desktop and stays their. How can I remove this launcher from the desktop? Thanks for your help in advance. |

Steps to remove widget:
1: Ensure widgets are unlocked (right-click on empty space on desktop -> Unlock Widgets) 2: Hover the mouse over the launcher widget. The widget handle should appear on one side of the widget (usually the side closer to where the mouse is) 3: Click the X in the widget handle I suspect that the widget handle may not be appearing for you, in which case I would suggest restarting plasma-desktop either by logging out and back in, or by running (in krunner): "kquitapp plasma-desktop && plasma-desktop" (which should kill and restart the desktop without affecting running applications).

Hi and thanks for your advice.
I am Linux newbie and even more a KDE newbie. I just love the KDE Plasma application because it gives me a lot of possibilities to organize my work. My biggest problem right now is to understand where is the border line betwenn Linux Mint and KDE. The "K" in front helps a lot! I am afraid I have to use the krunner command as the handle does not appear. Thus, I have the question, what the "krunner" is. Without the hint "krunner" I would have tried the command in the normal Linux terminal. Could you please give me a short hint? |

krunner is an app/command launcher using text input. See https://userbase.kde.org/Plasma/Krunner for more information The default shortcut is Alt+F2.
The command I posted can also be launched from the command-line terminal, though if you do that, you'll want to append " &" to the command so that it runs it in the background without tying up your terminal.
