Hi!
The option "Place in system tray" stopped working for some applications, while still works for some other. Anything related? Any possible solution? TIA! G.

Which applications work or don't work?
What specific version of KDE Plasma are you running? (Help -> About KDE in any KDE application) Was there a recent update to plasma? Can you reproduce the issue with a new from-scratch user?

THANKS airdrik!
I'm on Debian Jessie x64, which comes with KDE v.4.14.2. I recently had problem with some applications (eg. Kate to name one). I think I found the source of the problem. Somehow the preferred programs to open a file got confused. Eg. I can see that for opening a text file 1st priority has an entry named kate, but without associated icon. The normal kate entry was down the list. Restoring the correct entry to the top of the list, solved the problem. I still don't know why the duplicated broken entries in the first place.
