Hi I am new to this list but have run previous versions of KDE for years back to Red Hat 7.
Currently running Fedora 9(2.6.27.5-37 fully updated) with KDE 4.1.2. My problems started when I had problems positioning items in the lower panel and ended up deleting it. I could not find a way to re install it at the bottom of the screen but after a lot of hassle managed to get a new panel at the top. This now has most of the functionality of the bottom panel but I cannot find a way to show the Pager icons to allow me to switch desktops. Can anyone tell me how to do this. I would also like to move this panel back to the bottom of the screen but there doesn't seem to be a way to move it although I have seen screenshots of it positioned vertically at the side. Any help gratefully received Cager

Hi Cager,
did you check this HOWTO Panel in KDE 4.1.2 thread made by neverendingo? I hope it will get you started ![]()

Thanks tkoski. I know it is bad form to answer ones own questions but I have now solved both the problems. I still don't know why I couldn't see the "Pager" item in the list of widjets but I searched in the list many times without success. It seems to have appeared in the list when I tried adding a widjet to the main screen. It then also appeared when I tried adding widjets to the Panel. I must be going blind. The other problem with moving the panel to the bottom of the screen resolved itself when I increased the size of the panel and then used the "Screen Edge" button by dragging the button. I had previously expected a new menu to appear when I clicked this button. Hope this may help others. Now all I need is a way of getting root status within Dolphin or Konqueror without logging out/in. Cheers Cager

Not at all. On the contrary, it's very helpful for others with the same problem that you've written how you solved it and put [Solved] in the thread subject. Just a tip, did you know that there's a search bar in the Add Widget dialog? No need to scan the whole list, just type "Pager" in the text field. ![]()
