KDE Launcher and tray applets become unresponsive

If I click on the KDE Applications Launcher and then change desktops while the Launcher popup is visible, the Launcher popup disappears (normal) but then does not pop up when I click on the Launcher (bad); the Launcher behaves normally otherwise. This behavior is only for my account; using other accounts on the same machine the Launcher behaves normally. When new launchers are installed on the taskbar they behave in the same way.

A similar thing happens with applets in the Tray. When a session starts, clicking on the applet's tray icon produces a pop-up menu, but as soon as I change desktops with a pop-up visible, left clicking produces only a blue bar above the icon. Right clicking works properly for all the applets. This behavior applies to Audio Volume, Network Manager, Clipboard, Device Notifier, Software Updates, and Notifications, though not to the Kalarm applet.

All very strange. Any ideas on how to investigate?

System:
Fedora-27
KDE Plasma 4.11

This is now happening for ordinary applications. If an application has 2 or more active windows, left clicking on its icon in the panel causes a blue horizontal bar above the icon to appear, but nothing else.

The trouble can be cured, not just once but for the duration of a session, by restarting plasma, which can be done using this little script:
Code: Select all
#!/bin/bash
(kquitapp5 plasmashell) && kstart plasmashell >& ~/plasmaLog

As suggested in: https://www.lifewire.com/kubuntu-p2-2202573

Has a bug been reported for this behaviour?
