Digital Clock in KDE 4.1

Tue Nov 25, 2008 7:35 pm
Is there any way to change the default format of the digital clock to show the time in 12 hour format instead of 24 hour format?

I cannot see this option, even on trunk ( in the plasmoid that is ). I would recommend filing a feature request on the KDE Bugzilla

It is in the Time tab of the Regional & Language section of System Settings.

That took some thinking. It is called "Time format". I have been wanting 12 Hour time for a while now, and wondering where it was.

It follows my system settings here (trunk). System Settings -> Regional & Language -> (Country/Region & Language) Time & Dates -> Time format.

You also have a highly adjustable clock plasmoid here.

Thank you all that replied! I just changed my Time Format setting. Hopefully the clock will change when I reboot.

Seems like I was too late. Anyway. No need to reboot, you only have to restart KDE. Actually, if it's only the digital clock, just restarting Plasma helps. (I usually run killall plasma && plasma but I guess the more sophisticated way is to use kquitapp plasma && plasma).

Perfect! When I restarted X/Plasma the time format is now in 12 hour format! Thanks all!
